Moses below sea level
is just some guy
selling rocks.
Until recently,
he worked the southbound corner
at Duke and Lexington,
but since the buskers came to town
for a week of music
and styrofoam
he’s moved uptown three blocks
with his change purse
patchy dog
and painted rocks.
The rocks don’t move as well
uptown
but the dog eats better
and the free showers
and coffee
at the Lombardi Street Mission
are now
just minutes away.
A barber even works his part
once a month
below sea level.
