Monotony

as the rabbit stares at me
with her deep black
eyeballs,

as the man upstairs
screams
at his 5 year old boy
for spilling his juice,

as another teachers teaches
another bored student
the importance
&impact of Shakespeare,

as the young girl
across the street
changes
in front of her window,

as the gods parade down the
street,waving
their flags
&shooting their guns,

as a monk eats
one grain
of rice,

as the trashcan overflows
outside my
window,

one piece of the puzzle
waits,
one piece
with many different
colors&shapes,

&out of all
of the pieces
you've had the patience
to fit
into place,

you still wait,
rubbing together
the final sides,hoping,
that this time
you'll
get it right.
